Aviation Australia is an approved Skills Assure Supplier with the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training with User Choice funding for the below qualifications:

Leads to Category A Licence outcome:

  • Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance – MEA20518

Leads to Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) outcome:

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) – MEA40618
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) – MEA40718
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) – MEA41322

Leads to Category B Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) outcome:

  • Diploma of Aeroskills (Avionics) – MEA50118 *
  • Diploma of Aeroskills (Mechanical) – MEA50219 *

* Diploma includes CASA Licence outcome for eligible trainees

Other qualifications available:

  • Certificate III in Aircraft Surface Finishing – MEA30118

Training

Theory training is conducted at our campuses in Brisbane and Cairns. Training may also be conducted at other campuses if required.

Eligibility
Financial Support

The Queensland Government may offer financial assistance such as travel and accommodation allowance to support eligible apprentices/trainees.

The Queensland Government offers free tafe in high priority training areas, to support Year 12 graduates into employment. To be eligible, you need to:

  • Have completed Year 12 in Queensland (issued with a Senior Statement by QCAA);
  • Start an eligible apprenticeship or traineeship by 31 December the year after graduating;
  • Permanently reside in Queensland.

The Queensland Government offers subsidised training in selected priority training areas, to support youth into employment. To be eligible, you need to:

  • Be under 21 years of age;
  • Start an eligible apprenticeship or traineeship;
  • Permanently reside in Queensland.

Co-contribution Fees

Fees are based on the qualification, trade stream and the Units of Competency required to achieve the qualification. Once an individual Training Plan has been developed, final costs can be established. Fees can be paid by the apprentice or employer.
