Our simulator is currently used by some of Australia’s major airlines to conduct their actual pilot assessments. The device is based on the Boeing 737-800 jet transport aircraft, however, we are able to adapt it to closely replicate other aircraft performance types used within the industry for assessments.

The simulator also holds CASA approvals for Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) courses.

We have helped pilots prepare for Airline Simulator Assessments with many airlines, including:

  • Qantas
  • Jetstar
  • QantasLink
  • Virgin Australia
  • Airwork Group
  • Emirates
  • Cathay Pacific
  • Air New Zealand
  • Regional Express

Aviation Australia’s experienced instructors will assist you with the specific requirements for your airline simulator assessment. Our instructors are not just highly experienced pilots, but they are specifically trained in understanding how to get YOU to understand what is required to continually improve both for your assessment session and your ongoing career.

No two people are the same in the learning environment and this is where our instructors excel, as they understand this and adapt the techniques accordingly.

  1. The session begins with a briefing. This ensures both you and your instructor are on the same page. You will go over the expected profile, revise some aviation knowledge and then enter into the simulator for the practical learning component of your session.
  2. In the simulator, your instructor will attempt to replicate the anticipated profile, based on the feedback of other candidates. You will execute the various maneuvers and tasks under the watching eye of your instructor who will offer input throughout, while being mindful to not overwhelm you.
  3. Typically, after around 45 minutes to an hour, you have a short break to revitalise your brain, before going through the profile again to put into practice the information imparted to you by the instructor.
