Qantas engine set to call BNE Home

The latest addition to our facilities will be the donation of a Boeing 747-400 engine from Qantas Airways. The Rolls-Royce RB211-524 is the last of its type in the Qantas fleet following the retirement of this iconic aircraft. Following months of negotiations, this engine will soon call Brisbane home.

Final arrangements are underway to transport the engine from its current Mascot location to our Brisbane practical hangar. While we now have a number of RB211 engines, this will be the most modern of its type in our training environment.
