The White Star Aviation fleet boasts the latest technology in avionics and in-house maintenance ensures minimum down-time on aircraft, including:

  • Cessna 172, 182 and 206
  • Diamond DA40NG and DA62
  • Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche
  • CKAS MotionSim1 Flight Training Device (CASA approved) – designed to simulate a G1000 Piper PA44 Seminole and a G1000 or analogue C172, providing students with a leading full-flight trainer/aircraft combination for basic training through to Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.

Students are mentored through their program by a network of Airline Captains.Ā  Their ā€˜Captainā€™s Loungeā€™ portal provides the students with direct access to 14 airline captains across 5 continents, representing 12 companies, all available to provide guidance, mentorship and insights to our current and past students.

White Star Aviation is a Part 141 CASA approved flight training facility at Ballina Byron Gateway Airport (New South Wales). The standard course is aligned with the CASR Part 141 flight training requirements under White Star Aviationā€™s CASA Air Operators Certificate (AOC).

Candidates must:
  • Before you start ā€“ Additional assessment requirements:
    Some countries may require additional assessment requirements, such as a higherĀ IELTSĀ or equivalent levelĀ and/or student interview. You will beĀ advised upon applicationĀ if further details are required. Aviation Australia does not recommend sitting an IELTS before having received an offer.
  • Academic Suitability:
    Evidence of completion of Year 12 or equivalent. Where an applicant does not meet these requirements, Aviation Australia may consider sufficient relevant work experience (documented via a resume and referees) and/or a successfully completed higher level qualification that demonstrates academic suitability. Aviation Australia uses theseĀ equivalent internationalĀ education achievement levels.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Assessment:
    You must address in writing all the questions in the GTE section of the application form that can be foundĀ here. You can find additional guidelines to structure your responsesĀ here.
  • Current Valid Passport:
    The applicantā€™s passport must be current and valid for at least 6 months from the course commencement date.

 

  • Documentation Requirements:
    • All documentation supplied must be certified and translated (in full) to English. Please refer to the front page of the application form for more details.

  1. You can apply online by using theĀ International Enrolment Form (snapforms.com.au)Ā and Aviation Australia will then assess your profile.
  2. If successful, you will be issued a Letter of Offer.
  3. You will then be able to proceed with the deposit payment for the course and you will get issued with a Confirmation of Enrolment that you can use to apply for your student visa.

Study Modes

Self-Study

Self study for a minimum of 5 hours per week is required with access to a computer and reliable internet connection. Each study period needs to be completed before progressing to the next study period.

This is an intensive course; students are expected to complete additional revision on a regular (daily) basis. For minimal disruption, it is recommended that students do not undertake any employment whilst studying this program.

Face to Face

Face to face training is located at White Star Aviation in Ballina, New South Wales. Flight lessons/briefings may be conducted at various aerodromes that may require travel. A minimum of 20 hours per week face to face training is required.

Recognition of Prior Learning

We offer the opportunity to have your previous studies, qualifications and experience assessed for certification against this course.
