FROM SCROLLING ON FACEBOOK TO A PROMISING CAREER IN AVIATION

From scrolling on Facebook to a promising career as a Cabin Crew attendant, Jacob Anstice joined Aviation Australia’s Government founded Cabin Crew course in Darwin last year and his career kicked off.

Jacob was scrolling on Facebook one day and he found an opportunity not to be missed:

‘NT Government funded* Cabin Crew training comes to Darwin!’.

Dreaming of an exciting career in aviation, he decided to take a leap an give it a go. A short while later, Jacob has started a promising career as a Flight Attendant with Air North.

Here’s his thoughts about the experience:

“I found the course exciting and really fun. This was because it showed me what being cabin crew was like and I was able to meet new lifelong friends.

The course exceeded my expectations. For one, being the first of its kind in the NT and two, all the people associated with Aviation Australia’s training had backgrounds of being cabin crew as well as their amazing personal stories.

I felt ready to enter the aviation industry once I finished the course as it gave me the skills and understanding needed to pass the exams once employed as cabin crew.

The course also gave me a wider view of what the role of cabin crew is, which is more than just tea and coffee service!

I am now a flight attendant for Air North based out of Darwin and I am loving my job.”

Jacob Anstice, 18, Northern Territory
