Last week we had the opportunity of hosting 21 members of the Defence & Industry Study Course (DISC) on site at the Brisbane Campus.
The course delivers Australian Defence Force (ADF), Defence, other Federal and State agencies, and industry executives with an enhanced understanding of Defence business whilst also improving the collective knowledge of Australia’s defence industry. Each DISC is comprised of a balanced mix of ADF officers from all three services together with Australian Public Service employees from various Defence groups, and industry participants who are selected to represent the different sectors, states/territories and scale of company (SMEs/Primes).
The members of the DISC were provided with an overview of the origins and aspirations of Aviation Australia along with an update on how AA is playing a role in helping to address critical shortages in skills across the aviation sector. The tour group had the opportunity to tour the campus and see firsthand the broad range of training programs available including Commercial Pilot, RPAS, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Cabin Crew.
We wish the DISC course all the very best as they complete their modules over the seven months.
