Aviation Australia Announces Glenn Ryan as New Chief Executive Officer

Brisbane Qld, 26 Feb 2024 – Aviation Australia, a leading provider of aviation training solutions, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Glenn Ryan, AM, CSC and Bar as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The announcement was made by Elsa Dalessio, Chair of Aviation Australia.

Glenn Ryan brings with him a wealth of experience, and a distinguished career in both commercial and military sectors. Previously, as Director General of the Australian Army’s Executive Training Authority, Glenn led the country’s largest training operation. His diverse background includes key positions such as Chief of Staff and Chief Operations Officer at Forces Command, as well as Chief Instructor at 1st Recruit Training Battalion. Notably, Glenn’s secondment to Westpac Banking Corporation showcased his adaptability. His remarkable career has been recognised with prestigious awards, including being appointed a Member of the Order of Australia and the United States Meritorious Service Medal.

In her statement, Elsa Dalessio highlighted Glenn’s exceptional capabilities and leadership qualities, emphasising his integral role in steering Aviation Australia towards a new era of growth and success. His appointment comes at a transformative moment for the organisation, marked by a renewed focus on innovation and strategic advancement. “Glenn has demonstrated a remarkable track record of driving performance improvements in complex environments. Elsa also acknowledged outgoing CEO Bill Horrock’s pivotal role in Aviation Australia’s growth. Under his leadership, the company expanded its reach internationally and solidified its position as Australia’s leading aviation training provider.

Offering specialised programs in aircraft maintenance engineering, piloting, cabin crew services, remote piloting, and autonomous technologies, Aviation Australia is a registered training organisation which holds approvals with both CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency). Furthermore, the company actively collaborates with government and training initiatives like the Queensland Government Funded Gateway to Industry School Program (Aerospace) and the VET in Schools Program.
