Composite Repair Techniques (AA-63)

MEA405 is increasingly in demand within industry to demonstrate competency and improve skills and of maintenance personnel in the repair of aircraft composites.

The course is intended for qualified aircraft maintenance engineers so that they can be approved as a ‘specially qualified person’ to perform composite structure maintenance of specified aircraft within a CAR 30 Maintenance Organisation, or specialist maintenance task/processes in a CASR Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO).

MEA405 has the prerequisite MEA401 Inspect Aircraft Structures, which will also be covered during the course if not already held.

The course is a blended training solution of pre-course online theory study and assessment via our learning management system and 10 days practical training & assessment.

A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment will be conducted for the MEA units of competency relating to this course, upon enrolment.

Must hold an AQF qualification containing MEA units of competency or a CASR Part 66 B1 Licence. AQF Statement of Attainment showing MEA units of competency held and/or CASR Part 66 B1 Licence must be uploaded at time of enrolment.

MEA401 – Inspect Aircraft Structure is a prerequisite for being awarded MEA405. MEA401 will be assessed on course for those who do not hold it.
