Townsville Aviation Training Academy recognised at Queensland Training Awards 2026

Aviation Australia is proud to have been named the recipient of the 2026 Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award, alongside Boeing Defence Australia, at the Queensland Training Awards.

The award recognises the success of the Townsville Aviation Training Academy (TATA), a collaborative initiative that is helping develop the skilled aviation workforce Queensland and Australia need for the future.

Announced at the 2026 Queensland Training Awards, the Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award celebrates outstanding partnerships between industry and training organisations that create meaningful pathways into employment and strengthen workforce capability.

The Townsville Aviation Training Academy is a partnership between Aviation Australia and Boeing Defence Australia, established to provide high-quality aviation maintenance training and career opportunities for aspiring aircraft maintenance engineers. Through the collaboration, students gain access to industry-relevant training, modern facilities, and direct connections to employers operating at the forefront of Australia’s aviation and defence sectors.

This recognition reflects the power of industry and training organisations working together to address workforce needs, build capability, and create opportunities for the next generation of aviation professionals.

Aviation Australia together with Boeing Defence Australia is now a finalist and preparing for the national stage at the Australia Training Awards in Sydney on Friday, 20 November 2026.

Building Queensland’s Future Workforce

The Queensland Training Awards celebrate individuals, businesses and organisations making outstanding contributions to vocational education and training across the state. This year, more than 750 nominations were received across individual and organisational categories, highlighting the breadth of talent and innovation within Queensland’s training sector.
