This information is for applicants who have applied for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with Aviation Australia and obtained an Initial RPL Report with identified gaps. 

Please use your individual RPL Report to guide you when reviewing this information. 

Please note: your Initial RPL Assessment was conducted against the Australian Qualifications Framework training package and CASA and RTO regulatory standards as detailed on your Initial RPL report. Any training package or regulatory changes may invalidate the report and require re-enrolment and re-assessment.

Study Material Only

Study Material can be purchased individually, on a pay as you study basis, via our online store.

Course access is 60 days.

If you require all the CASR Part 66 or EASA Part 66 theory modules for a single sub-category/category of the B1 or B2 Licence then you may wish to consider the study material and exam package option. If you are removing E1, E4 and E5 exclusions from a CASR Part 66 B1 Licence and wish to self study you may wish to consider the study material and exam package option. Instructor led classes for CASR Part 66 Modules are charged at $250 per day. This is inclusive of access to the online training material – however the examination/s are not included. Examinations will be charged at advertised cost.

Examinations

CASR and EASA Part 66 basic knowledge examinations must be sat at one of our approved exam locations throughout Australia and can be booked via our website.

PRACTICAL

To complete practical requirements, you have the option to document on the job training (OJT) within your workplace, map your previous practical experience from schedule of experience (SOE) or journal of experience (JOE) or attend practical training at an Aviation Australia facility.

Trade Unit Certification Sheets (TUCS) can be printed & completed in your workplace:

  1. Check your Initial RPL report to understand what Units of Competency (UOC) are outstanding for you to complete. A guide on how to read your RPL report can be found here.
  2. Download the guide on how to complete your Trade Unit Certification Sheets.
  3. Print each Trade Unit Certification Sheet required. You can access them here:
  4. Once completed, you must provide your TUCS with your application for the Final RPL Assessment.

Please note: some units of competencies have been updated and Aviation Australia has amended the relevant TUCS already. For example: MEACOM0043 has superseded MEA 164. If you require any assistance on these changes, contact us here: [email protected]

Having trouble mapping your experience?

We offer an additional service to individuals for mapping eligible practical evidence into the ‘Journal / Trade Unit Certification Sheets’ for recognition against an MEA Unit of Competency. This is charged at $220 (incl GST) per hour. Email [email protected] for more information.

Final Assessment Report

  1. Once you have completed ALL the gap requirements identified in your Initial RPL Report, you can apply for your Final RPL Assessment Report. During this you must upload certified copies of your documents for final assessment leading to certification.
  2. Please ensure you have met any relevant currency requirements that were identified in your Initial RPL Report.
  3. Within 6 weeks:
    • You will receive your Final RPL Report
    • Aviation Australia will submit your Form 465 to CASA as applicable
    • Aviation Australia will issue your relevant certification (Certification will be issued within 30 days of the date of your Final RPL Report)

IMPORTANT – If, on application, all gap requirements have not been met (as identified in your Initial RPL Report), you will be contacted via email to provide any outstanding supporting documentation/evidence within 90 days. After which, you may be required to resubmit for Final RPL assessment which may incur additional fees.

IMPORTANT: If your Aviation Australia Initial RPL report does not highlight any additional gap training required, you will only need to pay the price difference between your Initial and Final RPL Assessment
